The next Halo game, and probably some of the existing titles, is apparently heading to the PlayStation 5 according to a new job advert.
Halo fans have been having a great week so far, as developer 343 Industries has announced its rebrand to Halo Studios, as well as confirmed it’s working on the next Halo game using Unreal Engine 5.
It’s believed the next game will not continue the story of Halo: Infinite
The developer is currently in the process of hiring new talent to bring the next game to life, which is believed to be a remake of Halo: New Combat Evolved as the series starts its reboot.
However in another twist it seems the next Halo game will launch on PlayStation 5 as well as Xbox and PC platforms.
In a job advert for Audiokinetic, an audio software developer owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Halo was name-dropped as an upcoming project new employees will be working on.
The full ad read “As the Senior Technical Sound Designer, you will work with audio programmers, the audio team and other disciplines to implement audio into Unreal and Wwise for upcoming Halo titles.”
This does seem to suggest that Halo is coming to PlayStation 5 is some capacity, and it adds up further when you consider how many Xbox IPs have been ported to Sony’s console this year.
