Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw nominated for women’s Ballon d’Or

She is one of 30 female soccer players who have been nominated for 2024.

Manchester City’s Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has been listed among the nominees for the women’s Ballon d’Or, a prestigious award given to the best female footballer for the year.

This is Shaw’s second time being shortlisted for the award, following her first nomination in 2023.

Shaw in June was named player of the year at the Women’s Football Awards adding to her Women’s Super League (WSL) and Football Writers’ Association player of the season awards.

The Manchester City striker won the WSL Golden Boot after scoring 21 goals in 18 games, though her season ended early due to a broken foot.

The Ballon d’Or ceremony is due to take place in Paris on October 28.

Reggae  girls  captain  Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw is once again in the limelight  as she  is  among  the nominees for the 2024 Women’s Ballon ‘D’ or Football award.

The  Jamaican  international enjoyed one of her finest seasons to date, breaking individual, club and league goal records.

She  won the Women Soccer League Golden Boot with 21 goals in just 18 appearances and also became Manchester City’s record goal-scorer when she netted against Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium in March 2024.

With an impressive turn of pace, remarkable aerial ability and a clinical finish, shaw was often the driving force behind Manchester City’s attack, and was once again named in the PFA WSL team of the year for the 2023/24 season.

She  joins  two other Manchester City players on the Ballon D’or list of 13 nominees.
